Biography
Hannes Folberth was born in Romania in 1959.
He started piano lessons at the age of seven, after the family had moved to Germany.
Apart from an education in classical music, the spirit of the seventies and the psychedelic movement in particular,
had the strongest influence on his musical development.
Cooperation with various bands throughout the seventies and eighties, and many years working as a studio musician,
has shaped his style in numerous music productions.
In 1980 Hannes became a member of Eloy, the hugely successful German space/art rock band.
Heavy touring and many jobs as a guest and studio musician followed, representing some of the the most important sections
of his discography.
In 1994 Hannes felt the need for a fundamental change in his way of life. He also developed a deeper understanding of
root psychological causes and their interactions, after three years training to become a certified
Therapeutic-Breathing-Teacher.
In 2000 Hannes had the idea for a combination of music and relaxation, resulting in the Adamas project.
In 2001 he began to practice Falun Gong together with his long time partner and wife Roswitha.
Falun Gong, or Falun Dafa is a system of exercises and meditation to energize the body.
It is also the study of the universal principles of truthfulness, benevolence and forbearance, which are also the basis of Buddhism and Daoism.
After so many years of creative work in the music industry, this became a more substantial part of his life.
Now in 2004 at the age of 45, Hannes Folberth and his partners are working on an ambient project Xi-Phenomenon.
His views on life, and long time experience in the music business, highlight an awareness and empathy which are reflected in his music.
